Regional Youth Leadership is unlike any other extra-curricular activity. You will have an opportunity to look at our region from a whole new perspective. Not only will you learn about the individual topics of each session but you will learn about the career opportunities available within those areas. Regional Youth Leadership also prepares you for the future by providing opportunities to practice networking, budgeting, public speaking and a new respect for our region.
Check with your school contact! Applications must be postmarked by March 1st however some schools have their own internal deadline.
Applications are open to current high school sophomores representing public, private and home-schools in Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants must have approval from the principal and/or guidance counselor.
There is an application fee of $10. There is also a participation fee of $100 which is covered by most schools. Please check with your school representative regarding their policy. Home-school students are asked to cover this fee. If you are unable to cover the application or school fee please contact our office so that arrangements can be made.
While we can never predict the number of applications we will receive however we average approximately 120+ applications each year.
On average, forty-five students will be selected for the program. We currently accept one student from each high school that applies. If space permits, exceptional applications will be considered for available spots.
Applicants are encouraged to spend 60-90 minutes preparing their application. Applicants will want to review and edit their responses to ensure there are no grammatical or spelling errors. Students are also encouraged to read their responses to ensure that they have fully responded to the prompts. Upon completing these steps, applicants may wish to have their responses reviewed by a parent, teacher or trusted adult.
