The arts have much to do with the quality of life. The presence of cultural activities is a potent force in helping to make a city attractive. You will be introduced to the different arts and cultural in our area, the opportunities and challenges facing art organizations, and the artist within you!
DATE:
TIME: 7:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
LOCATION:
DROP OFF: 7th Street, just past Walnut on your right. The Weston Art Gallery is located across from the former Jeff Ruby downtown location (now The Lempicka, Jeff Ruby's Event Center). We will have RYL Volunteers on 7th Street to help direct you.
PARKING: 705 Sycamore St., Cincinnati, OH 45202. Students that are driving to session should park in the LAZ Parking Lot located at the address above. This lot is conveniently located across the street from the Fifth Third Theatre entrance to The Aronoff. RYL will cover the cost of parking for any student that provides their license plate number by Tuesday, September 19th at noon.
DRESS CODE: Smart Casual (yes, you can wear khaki shorts or jeans without rips/tears). Comfortable and weather conscious, something that you are comfortable wearing if you had to sit on the ground during a presentation. You will be walking in downtown during this session so keep this in mind! Dress appropriately for the weather given the amount of time we will be spending outdoors. A sweater or jacket might be helpful as some venues may be chilly.

OBJECTIVES:
- Demonstrate how the arts have the capacity to educate, inspire, entertain, and promote our local economy.
- Introduction to careers in the arts or art adjacent careers.
- Correlation of arts and culture to the retention of talent to the region.
- Relationship between arts organizations and business.
- Exposure to the multi-faceted diversity within the arts industry. This includes age, gender, race, sexual orientation, etc.
